Childrens Work

Bright Sparks, Sparklers and Crèche

The Bright Sparks and Sparklers are a lively and fun group of five to eleven year old children, who meet up every Sunday morning. While the main service is taking place, the children are invited to join the Bright Sparks and Sparklers for their own time of fellowship, bible teaching and prayer. The very young members of the congregation (under fives) have their own meeting in the crèche.

The sessions aim to provide the oppertunity for young children to learn more about the gospel and teachings of Christ, in a fun and friendly environment. The teaching is interactive and it is supported by a range of activities including games, art and craft, drama and quizzes.

Throughout the year the Bright Sparks and Sparklers are encouraged to take part in wider social activities. Previous events have included a trip to the local swimming pool, as well as the Christmas party last year. Additionally, each year the Bright Sparks and Sparklers have sought to support a charity. These have included The Bible a Month Club and World Vision.

The aim of the children's groups is for the younger members of the church community to get to know one another and to gain biblical teaching from the gospel. The children are also encouraged to be active members of the wider chruch community at St. Andrew's.
