DiscipleshipA Christian disciple is a person who is determined to follow Jesus Christ, with a passion to learn from Him and live according to His example. Jesus showed the importance of discipleship by making the training of the twelve disciples a priority during the time of His ministry. Jesus commissioned all His followers to train disciples because He intended fruit that lasts. At St. Andrew’s we encourage spirited growth on the basis of obedience to Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and knowledge of the word of God. Preaching and teaching takes place for the congregation and the children and young people during our Sunday morning and evening services. There are also small groups meeting during the day time or in the evenings in each day of the week to enable as many members of the congregation as possible to attend on a regular basis. Within these groups and from the congregation as a whole, individuals meet to pray together and encourage one another. A church house party takes place approximately every 18 months to provide an opportunity for the whole congregation to go away for a week-end of fellowship together and to receive teaching from a visiting speaker.
