Youth Work

At St. Andrew’s we have a vibrant, and a growing group of young people who are active, friendly and welcoming. We have a strong youth work team who are passionate and committed to serving God and young people. We work together with the young people to help them grow in their faith as well as giving them opportunities to use their skills and form friendships through various events, activities and games etc.

We have three main programmes that are currently running in the Church regularly throughout the week for young people who are 11 years and above. These are:

• Pulse
• Next Step

Next Generation

Meets on Sunday mornings during the service for activities such as games and Bible teaching.

Pulse

Is for 14+ year olds and meets on Sunday evenings at 6:30pm for a time of social and Biblical discussions, which are relevant to young people’s lives in a relaxed atmosphere.

Next Step

Meet on Friday evenings during term time from 7:30-9pm in the Oasis café, which is attached to the church. This is an activity based youth club, which comprises of games, sports, art & craft, social events and God slot. Social events include going to Planet Laser, ice-skating, bowling etc.

Young people are welcome to come and join us and bring friends to any of the above meetings.

Other events

Including 24-hour Famine Sleepover, House Party week-end away, Survival night and more.

We also have good links with other churches around Canterbury through the Youth Workers' Forum. We work together for joint youth events such as Stand, which is a twice-a-term youth celebration service for young people from different churches to meet and worship God. There is also a youth café open for all secondary school people on Friday afternoons from 3:30pm - 5pm at Oasis café during the term.
