Meet the Team

Bernard Fidder

Bernard has been the Minister at St Andrews since 2018. He worked in IT before becoming a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the United Reformed Church in 2010, whilst having a career in IT. St Andrew’s is his first full-time Ministry post. Bernard wants to see the whole church growing in the power of the Holy Spirit to exalt Jesus Christ and God the Father. Bernard is married to Adriana and they are both Dutch. In his spare time Bernard likes reading and tinkering with computers.

Cheryl Faulds

Cheryl Faulds has a heart for intercession and is a committed member of our prayer ministry team. She runs the Ladies’ group, organising both social activities and times of prayer. She is the church representative for Christians Together in Canterbury and the World Day of Prayer.

Val Cannon

Val Cannon joined St Andrew's after marrying Colin in 1984. She taught Modern Languages in Kent schools for many years, and then worked with Ramblers as a volunteer holiday leader in France, Spain and Italy after taking early retirement. Her passion is for music in worship, and she plays flute in the church worship group. She also leads a weekly Life Group and contributes to the Bible study and preaching programme.

Peter Hollander

Peter Hollander is a retired chartered accountant, our treasurer and our longest serving elder. His life changing encounter with Jesus was on 23 April 1989 here at St Andrew’s, a month and half before he married Patricia, who serves in Oasis Café and is on the prayer ministry team. He and his son, Jonathan, lead at Littlebourne Chapel. He enjoys time with his grandchildren, and helps with the Sonbeams mothers and toddlers group.

Alice Wong

Alice Wong has been part of St. Andrew’s for three years, since hearing the fellowship singing God’s praise outside the church. She has a heart for worshipping God and praying for the city of Canterbury.
