Morning Worship

St Andrew’s, Canterbury

Whenever we worship, whether it is in a Sunday service or during the week as we go about our work, we come to God with thankfulness and praise for who He is and for all that He has done for us.

Open Prayer
10am - 10:15am

Preparing for a church service is often busy, so we stop at 10am to commit the service to God. We begin with listening to a Scripture and use that as a basis for our praise and prayers. All are welcome to join this time of prayer in the Oasis Café.

Morning Worship
10:30am - 12:30pm

Our services vary in style depending on who is leading, but we always turn the focus onto who God is through the songs we use and in the studying of His Word. We use songs that glorify God, including powerful hymns as well as Spirit-filled songs from the present day.

We have an inter-generational approach to church, encouraging everyone to be involved according to their God-given gifts. We have an ‘Engage’ space for those of any age who find that art or writing helps them engage better with Scripture.

After lockdown, when we could resume church services on site but not sing inside, we began singing a song of praise outside before leaving. Now, we still go outside to sing God’s praises as a way to bless and interact with the city! Those who wish to do so go outside to sing after the service and then we come back inside for refreshments. Personal prayer is available from the front of the church by the keyboard at this time.

We share communion on the first Sunday of the month.
